Co-hosts United States are ready to lock horns with Pakistan in the 11th match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 taking place at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas on 6 June, 2024. Both these teams are coming into this match after facing quite different results in their respective previous outings. United States clinched a thumping 7-wicket victory against Canada in their opening match of this mega event at the very same venue. On the other hand, this will be Pakistan's first match in this ongoing T20I competition after they suffered a poor 0-2 T20I series loss at the hands of England recently. Both these teams are part of the Group A alongside the trio of India, Canada and Ireland.
It was a huge moment for the United States team as they registered their first-ever win in the history of the ICC T20 World Cup when they defeated Canada. They are currently placed at the top position on the Group A points table. The batsmen duo of Andries Gous and Aaron Jones were the top performers in the tournament opener against Canada as they scored impressive half-centuries each. The United States side entered this edition of the mega event at home with a lot of confidence after their historic 2-1 T20I series victory over Bangladesh. However, this T20 World Cup match against Pakistan will surely pose a different and rather difficult challenge for USA and they will find it hard to continue their winning run.
On the other hand, Pakistan will be looking forward to kickstart their 2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup campaign on a winning note. The Babar Azam-led Pakistani side did not witnessed the best of fortunes recently in the shortest format of the game having suffered two disapppointing defeats in England and also lost a T20I encounter at the hands of Ireland. Incidentally, Pakistan have performed excellently well in the last two editions of the T20 World Cup as they played the semi-finals in 2021 and ended up losing the final against England in 2022.
Pitch Report
This will be the third match in this edition of the T20 World Cup 2024 being played at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas. As witnessed in the tournament opener between USA and Canada, it was a really good pitch which favoured both the batters as well as the bowlers throughout the contest. USA chased down the total of 194 runs in the second innings with a lot of ease. Something similar is expected for the USA vs Pakistan game and thus, bowling first will be a good option on this pitch after winning the toss.
Predicted United States Playing XI
The United States team are very much unlikely to tinker with their winning combination from the last victory against Canada. The trio of skipper Monank Patel, Andries Gous and Aaron Jones will be once again be the key players in the batting department alongside Corey Anderson as the seam bowling all-rounder. The likes of Ali Khan, Harmeet Singh, Saurabh Netravalkar and Jessy Singh will be their main bowlers in this match against Pakistan.
Steven Taylor, Monank Patel (C & wk), Andries Gous, Aaron Jones, Corey Anderson, Nitish Kumar, Harmeet Singh, Sgadley van Schalkwyk, Jasdeep Singh, Ali Khan, Saurabh Netravalkar.

Predicted Pakistan Playing XI
It will definitely be a very challenging task for the Pakistani team management to pick their best possible playing XI for this T20 World Cup 2024 first game against USA starting on Thursday. Despite not having the best of performances, Saim Ayub is expected to open the batting with wicket-keeper batsman Mohammad Rizwan. One of Azam Khan or Usman Khan will also find a spot in the Pakistan playing 11. It will be really difficult to pick the pace bowling attack with the likes of Shaheen Afridi, Mohammad Amir, Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah. Left-arm spinner Imad Wasim will not be available due to a side strain and leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed is expected to replace him.
Saim Ayub, Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Babar Azam (C), Fakhar Zaman, Iftikhar Ahmed, Azam Khan, Shadab Khan, Shaheen Afridi, Abrar Ahmed, Mohammad Amir, Naseem Shah/Haris Rauf.
