After an outstanding performance in the first ICC Men's T20 World Cup tournament, the USA cricket team are ready to take it forward against the Dutch for ODI and T20I series starting in August 2024. This tour will be the first tour for the United States team after a brilliant performance in the 9th edition of the ICC event, where they managed to reach in Super eight stage of the marquee event by defeating test-playing nations Pakistan and Bangladesh in the group stage. However, they lost against England, but the way they played throughout the tournament was praised by everyone.
For the upcoming Netherlands tour, the USA cricket team have made several changes in their squad by giving rest to players like Saurabh Netravalkar and Corey Anderson after great performances in the World Cup and Major League Cricket from their respective franchises.
The star performer of the T20 World Cup from the USA team has been granted a rest after the birth of his child. Apart from him, the wicket-keeper batter, Andries Gous, has similarly been granted parental leave for the ODI leg of the tour. Former New Zealand cricketer Corey Anderson failed to impress the selectors after his average performance in the Major event. However, he played a match-winning knock of 59 runs against MI New York in Major League Cricket.
All-rounder Nisarg Patel has been picked in the squad after being not given a chance in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024. Apart from him, Milind Kumar has been backed by the USA cricket team for the ODI series. Likewise, 36-year-old fast bowling all-rounder Shadley Van Schalkwyk is given a chance in T20I team.
