In a very amusing incident, South African all-rounder Corbin Bosch invited a big trouble after he withdrew from the upcoming edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and decided to be available for the Mumbai Indians (MI) in order to participate in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) season. It has been learnt that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has issued a legal notice against the Proteas cricketer due to his sudden withdrawl from PSL 2025. Incidentally, Bosch was set to represent the Peshawar Zalmi side in the upcoming Pakistan Super League 2025 season, however, he suddenly became unavailable and instead joined the Mumbai Indians as a replacement player for his fellow South African speedster Lizaad Williams.

Corbin Bosch has finally broken his silence on the whole controversy that erupted after his sudden decision of choosing IPL 2025 over PSL. The South African all-rounder has reportedly stated that he wanted to secure his future and therefore, he made this decision to pick the more successful T20 franchise which is the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League. Mumbai Indians is one of the global franchises as they have teams in multiple other leagues like SA20, Major League Cricket and International League T20.

“Bosch provided his explanation to Pakistani officials, stating that his decision was not meant to disrespect PSL. He said he had to prioritize his future, as Mumbai Indians are not only a strong IPL team but also have franchises in multiple other leagues, which could benefit his career significantly," the report read.

The report further stated that the Pakistan Cricket Board is planning to take a bold decision against Corbin Bosch's sudden withdrawl from the Pakistan Super League in order to prioritise the Indian Premier League. The PCB officials are also planning of possibly banning the Proteas cricketer from the upcoming few seasons of the PSL. However, the Pakistan Cricket Board is yet to take any final decision on this whole issue.

“Some quarters argue that the league's credibility is paramount and that Bosch should be banned from future PSL editions as a deterrent for others. However, others believe that imposing a ban might send a negative message to other players. Instead, they suggest a symbolic penalty to resolve the matter. The PCB is expected to make a decision in the coming days," the report added.

The 18th edition of the Indian Premier League is scheduled to begin on 22 March, 2025 with defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) taking on the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the opening game set to be hosted at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. On the other hand, the Islamabad United will be facing Lahore Qalandars in the first match of PSL 2025 on 11 April, 2025 in Rawalpindi.
