Despite this, the Kolkata-based franchise clinched their 3rd IPL title after winning the final against Sunrisers Hyderabad at MA Chidambaram Stadium by 8 wickets. It would not be wrong to say that the 17th edition was one of the most exciting seasons from the last 16th editions, where we witnessed an epic battle between the top 10 teams. However, there were several top performers throughout the season, who made their respective teams reach the playoffs of the Indian Premier League. Through this new piece, we will talk about 3 bowlers who have picked most wickets in IPL 2024.

However, despite Harshal's effort, Punjab Kings were unable to qualify for the playoffs and finished the tournament in the 9th position after winning just 5 games out of 14.

The Mystery bowler from the Kolkata Knight Riders team who played a crucial role in lifting their 3rd IPL trophy by picking 31 wickets in 15 games with an efficiency of 8.04, conceding just 402 runs while bowling 50 overs throughout the tournament.

Varun was picked up by the Kolkata-based franchise in IPL 2020 at a whopping price of 12 crores due to his unorthodox bowling, which is hard to pick for any batsman. However, he was unable to show magic with the balls in the first 3 years despite not performing well and going through injuries, he was backed up by the team management and in the 17th edition, where he showed his prowess by being the highest wicket-taker for the Kolkata-based-franchise. Apart from him, bowlers like Harshit Rana, Andre Russel and Sunil Nare have also picked the most wickets from the Kolkata Night Riders franchise, it is one of the reasons Kolkata won the 17th edition of the Indian Premier League by defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad by wickets at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

3. Japrit Bumrah

Jasprit Bumrah is one of the best bowlers in the world, he can make any batsman out with his toe-crushing yorkers and unpredictable bouncers, which makes him the number-one bowler for the Indian team. Despite Mumbai Indian's disappointing performance in the 17th edition of the Indian Premier League, the MI's star pacer finished the tournament as 3rd highest-wicket taker in the league and the bowler with the most wickets in IPL 2024.

Bumrah picked a total of 20 wickets in 13 games for the Mumbai-based franchise with an economy of 6.48 by conceding just 336 runs while bowling 41 overs throughout the tournament. However, his performance could take the 5-time title winner forward in the IPL 2024, where they finished the tournament on the bottom table by winning just 4 games out of 14.

Talking about the current season we have witnessed several match-winning performances from the Indian players one of them is the Indian run-machine, Virat Kohli, who finished the 17th edition of the tournament by scoring most runs in IPL 2024 from Bangalore-based franchise.
