In a huge opportunity, Lucknow-born leg-spinner Zeeshan Ansari will be making his Indian Premier League (IPL) debut for the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in their third match of the season scheduled against the Delhi Capitals (DC) to be played at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam. After finishing as the runners-up last year, the Sunrisers Hyderabad had a pretty impressive start to their IPL 2025 campaign as they comprehensively defeated the Rajasthan Royals in their opening match but then loss to Lucknow Super Giants in their most recent outing. Thus, it will be really important for the Sunrisers Hyderabad to make a strong winning comeback in this game. 

Who is Zeeshan Ansari in the DC vs SRH IPL 2025 match?

Right-arm legspinner Zeeshan Ansari hails from Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh and was part of the India Under 19 team alongside Rishabh Pant. He recently came into the limelight due to his impressive performance while playing for Meerut Mavericks in the UP T20 League. Zeeshan finished as the leading wicket-taker in the T20 competition with a total of 24 scalps. 

Interestingly, Zeeshan Ansari made his first-class debut for Uttar Pradesh in October 2017 against Railways and has since then played a total of 5 matches where has take as many as 17 wickets at an average of 30.76. During a recent interview, Ansari mentioned that the legendary likes of Shane Warne, Anil Kumble and Piyush Chawla are his inspirations. He also played alongside Chawla in the UP T20 League. 

"I drew inspiration from the likes of Shane Warne, Anil Kumble, and Piyush Chawla, avidly studying their actions. I consider myself privileged to have shared the field with Piyush Chawla in this league," said Zeeshan Ansari in a recent interview. 

Incidentally, Zeeshan Ansari does not come from a rich background as his father, Naeem, runs a tailoring shop in Lucknow. Even after performing so well in the UP T20 League, the leg-spinner failed to get a chance for Uttar Pradesh in the last season of the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy.
