Will Suryakumar Be Playing For LSG In IPL 2025?

Till now, we used to know SKY as a destructive batter from the Indian national cricket team especially in the shorter format of the game. But now we can see him as a leader after appointing as the captain of Men in Blue in T20Is after senior player Rohit Sharma announced his retirement from fast forward by winning the ICC Men's T20 World Cup and ending the title drought of 17 long years. 

BCCI made a few changes in the team, with former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir announced as the new head coach and Suryakumar Yadav as the new captain. The Mumbai-born batter didn't fail to show his prowess as the skipper of the Indian team, he whitewashed the Sri Lanka team in the 3-match T20I series in his debut series as the captain.

However, after Suryakumar Yadav, was announced as the captain of the national side, he might not be seen playing for the Mumbai Indians franchise in the next edition of the Indian Premier League, according to reports, as they have already traded Hardik Panday from Gujrat Titans and handed him the captaincy responsibility replacing it from Roihit Sharma.

Playing under Hardik Pandya's captaincy would make things difficult under the MI team management. So, there might be chances that the Mumbai-based franchise would release SKY ahead of the IPL 2025.

If this happens, the Lucknow Super Giants franchise would be the first team to buy Suryakumar Yadav after a horrible last season under the captaincy of KL Rahul, where they finished 7th on the table, finding just 7 wins out of 14 games. However, the LSG franchise started their IPL season very well by playing 2 back-to-back playoffs. Nevertheless, they failed to do so in the last edition, requiring changes in the leadership, which means that they might release their current captain KL Rahul. 

In Rahul's absence, LSG will be looking for a captain and Suryakumar Yadav could be a perfect choice for them. Besides, SKY can add dynamism to the middle order of the LSG batting line-up solving many problems for the team.
