Ruben Amorim has emphasized that it is "clear" Alejandro Garnacho has a promising future at Manchester United, despite growing speculation linking the young forward with a potential exit during the January transfer window. Garnacho, 20, has made a significant impact this season, scoring eight goals in 30 appearances, yet recent reports have suggested that United could be open to selling the academy product in order to free up funds for other transfers. The speculation surrounding Garnacho’s future intensified when he was left out of the squad entirely for the Manchester derby and has only recently regained a starting spot under Amorim. Sunday’s FA Cup match against Arsenal, which United won in a dramatic penalty shootout, marked Garnacho’s return to the first XI for the first time since the 3-2 home defeat to Nottingham Forest on December 7.

During the period of his absence from the starting lineup, questions arose about his role in the squad and whether his future at Old Trafford was secure. Despite the uncertainty, Amorim remains confident in Garnacho’s potential and believes the young winger still has a bright future at United. The player’s performance this season, coupled with his immense talent, suggests that Garnacho could continue to play a key role for United moving forward, provided he maintains his focus and continues to develop under the guidance of Amorim and the club’s coaching staff.

"That is clear. He has talent. He needs to learn to play in a different position," stated  Ruben Amorim in a recent interview.

"He's finding the best way to play in this system. He's improving during training. He started the last game. Let's see tomorrow (against Southampton)," he added.

Manchester United displayed resilience in Sunday’s FA Cup shootout victory over Arsenal, especially after being reduced to 10 men when Diogo Dalot was sent off. This gritty performance came just a week after a hard-fought 2-2 draw against Premier League leaders Liverpool, highlighting the team’s determination in tough situations. Portuguese manager Ruben Amorim was quick to praise Harry Maguire for his standout effort in the match. Despite battling illness and missing Friday's training session, the former United captain played a crucial 104 minutes against Arsenal, showing immense commitment and resolve. Amorim emphasized that this kind of mentality is exactly what he expects from his entire squad.

Maguire's determination, playing through discomfort and contributing significantly to the team's defensive effort, has been a model of leadership and professionalism. Amorim’s praise for the centre-back underscores the importance of such attitudes in overcoming adversity and achieving success in high-pressure matches. It’s this kind of dedication that Amorim hopes to see from all players as United continues to navigate a challenging season. The manager’s comments reflect his desire for a collective effort where every player is willing to push through difficult circumstances for the good of the team.
