According to sources, Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain have begun negotiations about signing Fabian Ruiz. In the summer transfer window, Mikel Arteta's team hasn't added any players to the roster yet, but they're almost done paying €50 million (£42.1 million) to acquire Bologna defender Riccardo Calafiori. Prior to the upcoming season, Arsenal is rumored to be looking for both a new offensive player and a new central midfielder. And in light of Ruiz's outstanding accomplishments for Spain at Euro 2024, the Premier League runners-up from the previous season, are now attempting to sign him. However, before they move any further with this plan, they must let go of at least one of their midfields. Furthermore, if they and PSG can agree on a transfer cost, it's probably going to be set up similarly to the agreement they made to sign David Raya from Brentford the previous summer—that is, as a loan with a buyout clause one year from now.

Fabian Ruiz’s Worth

Fabián Ruiz celebrated his coming out following Spain's 2024 UEFA Euro victory. The Paris Saint-Germain midfielder, who is 28 years old, started all six games for Spain and finished with two goals and two assists. Ruiz also had a 91 percent pass completion rate, 1.7 crucial passes per game, and 65.2 passes per game. These figures demonstrated what an incredible tournament the 28-year-old had for La Roja. Ruiz's reputation has improved since the end of the Euros, and other teams are now showing interest in the former outstanding player from Napoli. However, after moving to the French capital, the 28-year-old has found it difficult to establish a consistent position in midfield. In his first season, he started 21 games in Ligue 1, but under Luis Enrique, he only started 14 games in the league the previous season.

Alternative Prospects For Arsenal

Some sources suggest that Arsenal is mulling over a move for Mikel Merino, another Spanish midfield player. The Real Sociedad player, whose contract expires in the summer of 2024, may be available for a fair price. He also played for his country in Euro 2024. It seems that the Gunners' top goal for this transfer window is to bring in another midfield player.
