Arsenal look to fill the void left by Saka's injury; Samuel Chukwueze in radar

The Premier League title race has become a bit lopsided with Liverpool steaming away from the rest. Currently, they are six points ahead of second-placed Arsenal with a game in hand. However, Arsenal have not given up the hope and are chasing the Anfield-based outfit in the title race. Amidst these, Arsenal have struck with an injury to their star player, Bukayo Saka. The North London outfit doesn't have a dearth of options but according to sources in Italy, the Gunners are eyeing to secure Samuel Chukwueze from AC Milan. 

Bukayo Saka pulled up his hamstring during the Premier League fixture and he is expected to be ruled out for multiple weeks. Though they have enough attacking firepower in the armory with the likes of Trossard and Martinelli, they would just not want to risk their season. At the start of the season, they missed the services of Martin Odegaard which continues to haunt them even to this day as they went through a lean patch with multiple draws when others were going all guns blazing. 

Who is Samuel Chukwueze? Where does he rank?

The AC Milan forward and right winger, Samuel Chukwueze continues to draw interest from multiple Premier League outfits due to his directness and play-making ability. Though the numbers don't do justice to his ability on the pitch, Samuel Chukwueze accounts for two chances created per 90. His xAG averages 2.4 in Serie A. The Nigerian international is also known for his defensive duties, which is a key component in Mikel Arteta’s setup this season, with Chukweze accounting for 1.16 tackles per 90. 

The directness in his play reflects on his number as the 25-year-old averages 2.39 take-ons per 90. While Premier League outfits prefer to keep possession, Chukwueze’s ability to take the defenders on and create chances would be a huge boost to the Spaniard’s setup.

What are Arsenal looking for as a part of the deal? 

While the Italian outfit are interested in securing Kiwior, the Gunners would look to get Chukwueze as a part of a swap deal. However, the valuation will come into play and Arsenal might have to shell cash to secure the player.
