Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund are keen on signing Manchester United’s star player Marcus Rashford this month, according to Sky Sports Germany. Rashford’s future with the club is uncertain, especially after the arrival of Ruben Amorim as he has gone down the pecking order. The English forward hasn’t featured for the Red Devils in their last eight matches across competitions. This suggests that he may not be in Amorim’s plans anymore.
This season, Rashford has scored seven goals and assisted in three after playing in 24 matches across competitions, so far. Even though he is struggling, Rashford is in demand outside the Old Trafford. His stocks remain high in the market as multiple teams are behind him. Borussia Dortmund have held fresh talks with his entourage recently and he might play for them on loan.
Dortmund have accelerated the talks and the overall process, after their disappointing 3-2 defeat in Bundesliga against Bayer Leverkusen on January 10. Their manager Nuri Sahin is keen on securing Rashford’s services to reinforce the team’s attack but it won’t be easy for him. The German club is facing challenges from AC Milan, Napoli, and Barcelona as all these teams are eager to grab Rashford.
Marcus Rashford open to his exit from Manchester United
Moreover, Marcus Rashford recently hinted at his exit from Manchester United as well. He has been playing for the club since 2015-16 and has featured in a staggering 394 matches across competitions, scoring 129 goals.
While speaking to journalist Henry Winter last month, the 27-year-old Englishman revealed that he is ready for the new challenge in his career. He stated that he would refrain from making any negative comment about the club following his departure.
“For me, personally, I think I'm ready for a new challenge and the next steps. When I leave, it's going to be 'no hard feelings'. You’re not going to have any negative comments from me about Manchester United. That’s me as a person,” Rashford said (via GOAL).
