According to recent reports, Chelsea and their gaffer, Enzo Maresca have blocked the move of one of their top defenders to the rival club. The Blues are looking to block the move of Axel Disasi on whom Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur have set their sights. While there is no reason found why the club is not allowing the player to move, Axel Disasi was interested in making a move to the Birmingham-based outfit in January.

Across all competitions, the 26-year-old defender has only 17 appearances to his name, raising concerns over his future. Chelsea had secured the services of the player in a deal worth €30 million in 2023/24 from AS Monaco. With more than four years left on his contract, he would have commanded a significant fee as Aston Villa is significantly light in the defense after selling Diego Carlos to Fenerbahce.

The French international has struggled to get going in the Premier League ever since the arrival of Enzo Maresca. Disasi has struggled to get game time in the Premier League as he has featured in only six of the possible 23 top-flight games that the Blues have played this season. And, he has only four starts in the six games he has played. While some might look at the injury history, Disasi was always available for his side but the player is down the pecking order at the London-based outfit.

Chelsea looks to bolster their attacking options in the final days of the transfer window

With less than five days left in the transfer window, the clubs are in a hurry to fix the missing piece in a jigsaw puzzle and Chelsea are not left behind. They are looking forward to improving their attacking options as some of their forwards are struggling to find the back of the net. At the same time, they are also looking to offload some of their attackers who have failed to yield the returns.

While Chelsea was reportedly interested in Jhon Duran and Alejandro Garnacho, Jhon Duran has made a move to Saudi Arabia with Garnacho being the only realistic possibility. Manchester United are expecting a deal of around  €70 million to sell the Argentinian forward.
