After a lackluster 2023/24 season, Chelsea have made a promising start to the 2024/25 campaign under their new manager, despite a recent loss to Liverpool. The team, currently, sits in the top half of the table and seems to have nailed most of their new signings. One of Chelsea's new additions, Estevao Willian, has also been making headlines for his current club, Palmeiras, where he recently broke a unique record previously held by Brazilian superstar Neymar by scoring against Juventude.

With his goal in a 5-3 win against Juventude, Estevao Willian broke Neymar's record for the most goal contributions by an under-17 player in the Brazilian Serie A. Neymar previously held the record before departing Santos for Barcelona. Willian has 18 G/A to his name in this season while Neymar had 16 G/A.

Willian accepted a record £56 million move to Chelsea, turning down interest from PSG, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Real Madrid. It was also rumored that Manchester United and Manchester City were in the race for his signature. Speaking about his decision to join the London club, Willian highlighted Chelsea's strategic planning as the key factor behind his choice.

I decided for Chelsea because of their planning. I was very pleased with that. Not just for me, but also for my family. It was the club that believed in me and trusted in my work. I hope I can pay that back

Addressing the examples of players like Salah, Lukaku, and De Bruyne not reaching their full potential at Stamford Bridge, Willian emphasized that every player is different, with varying potentials. He assured that he would give his all to ensure his transfer to Chelsea is a success.

That [failure of Salah, Lukaku and De Bruyen at Stamford Bridge] doesn't worry me because each one is different. I don't know the context or what they were like. I'm going to have to find my space and I'm going to have to give my all effort every day

Chelsea will face Panathinaikos in their upcoming UEFA Conference League fixture on October 23rd. Chelsea enters the match with momentum after winning their first game, while Panathinaikos had to settle for a draw against Borac before the international break.
