Brentford manager Thomas Frank has showered praise on the team’s next opponent Chelsea. Brentford and Chelsea are set to face each other on Sunday in the Premier League. The Blues are in sensational form this season across competitions. They have won their last six matches now while their unbeaten run extends to nine matches this season.

Chelsea are coming off a 3-1 win over Astana in the Europa Conference League earlier this week. They have netted a staggering 19 goals in the last five matches and look extremely good to continue their winning streak in the upcoming game. Brentford manager Frank has even called them the better team than league leaders Liverpool as well. He lauded Enzo Maresca, Chelsea manager, for doing a great job since taking over from Mauricio Pochettino in June.

“They are maybe even more in-form than Liverpool, even though they are top of the league. They are playing incredible football and are well-coached. Maresca has done a top job so far with his coaching staff and they look extremely dangerous,” Frank said ahead of the Chelsea clash.

Chelsea 2nd in Premier League points table

Meanwhile, ahead of the clash against Brentford, Chelsea are sitting pretty at the second place in the points table. They have won 9, drawn 4, and lost two matches so far in 15 outings and have 31 points to their name, only four behind the Liverpool- the table toppers.

The next three weeks in the Premier League will be crucial for them as it is a quick turnaround for the Blues between matches. After the Brentford clash at the weekend, they will feature in the final league game of the Europa Conference League on December 19. However, after that, Chelsea will play four matches in the space of 13 days in the Premier League. If they manage to keep their winning streak going, the Blues might even topple Liverpool in the table.

For the inversed, Chelsea will lock horns against Everton, Fulham, and Ipswich Town to end 2024 on December 22, 26, and 30 respectively. Their first match of 2025 is scheduled against Crystal Palace on January 4.
