BBC pundit for the Premier League, Chris Sutton has made his prediction for the massive weekend clash between Manchester United and Brighton & Hove Albion. In his column for BBC, Sutton has predicted a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford on Sunday (January 19). According to Sutton, Brighton are much tougher opponents and even they are coming off a stunning win against Ipswich Town in their previous outing away from home. They won the clash 2-0 and will be riding high on confidence ahead of the face-off against the Red Devils.

In fact, Sutton feels Manchester United will do well to draw this encounter in his prediction. “This might be one of them, because Brighton are much tougher opposition than Saints were. The Seagulls got back to winning ways in the league against Ipswich (Town) on Thursday. I fancy them here more than I do United, but I am going to go with a draw.

“United have got a habit of getting something out of games, and this time they will find a way of getting a draw,” Sutton wrote in his column.

Manchester United are 12th in Premier League table

For the unversed, Manchester United are coming into this game on the back of a stunning 3-1 win over Southampton. They were 0-1 behind in the clash, however, Amad Diallo came up with an unbelievable hattrick in the last 12 minutes of the game to seal a memorable win for the Reds.

This was United’s third win since Ruben Amorim’s arrival to go with five losses and two draws. They are now at the 12th position in the league standings after 21 matches with seven wins, five draws and nine losses and have 26 points to their name. As for their immediate opponents, Brighton are doing much better than them having taken the ninth place in the table. They have also played 21 matches so far winning seven, drawing 10 and losing only four matches with 31 points to show for their efforts.

The upcoming clash between Manchester United and Brighton is expected to be huge with both teams looking to continue their winning run.
