According to Ali Alabdallah, Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr have decided to part ways with 30-year-old football star Talisca. He has been with the club since 2021 when he left the Chinese team Guangzhou FC for a reported 8 million Euros deal with Al-Nassr.
His contract with the Saudi Pro League club will expire only in the summer of 2026. However, the Brazilian forward is reportedly set to leave the club in 2025 itself. Talisca is heavily linked with Turkish team Fenerbahce whose manager is Jose Mourinho, Cristiano Ronaldo’s former boss at Real Madrid.
Talisca’s departure is expected to be a huge blow for Al-Nassr as he has been in great form this season. He has found the nets eight times in 15 matches across competitions for the Knights of Najd, this season. Overall, he has played 95 matches for Al-Nassr and scored a staggering 74 goals for the club across competitions. He has been a regular in the starting XI for them and if the club decides to part ways with the star player, the team will definitely miss him.
Al-Nassr struggling in Saudi Pro League
Meanwhile, Al-Nassr are not having a great time on the field this season in the Saudi Pro League. They are in fourth place in the 18-team league after 13 matches with seven wins, four draws and two losses. With 25 points to their name, the club has accumulated 11 points fewer than the league leaders Al-Ittihad
In fact, Al-Nassr lost to the table toppers in their previous encounter by a 2-1 margin and have a huge task of making a comeback once the league resumes in January 2025.
When it comes to AFC Champions League, Al-Nassr have fared a tad better. They are in third place in Group B after six matches having won four, drawn one and lost one match. This tournament is undergoing a break with Al-Nassr set to play their next match on February 3 at 11:30 PM IST against Al Wasl.
Al-Nassr have a good time to rejig their squad or rethink their plans in this break so that they can resume on a high in the second half of the season.
