David de Gea shares heart-warming message on social media

Former Manchester United’s legendary football star, David de Gea displayed a sensational performance for his new club, AS Fiorentina against AC Milan in Series A on 6th October. His fine glovework helped his team register a 2-1 win in a stunning encounter against AC Milan. De Gea was sensational throughout the course of the game as he saved two penalties across two halves of the game. He first denied Hernandez’s goal in the additional time of the first half and it was followed with another brilliant penalty save in the 56th minute. Overall, as many as three penalties were saved during the game. Earlier, Milan’s goalkeeper Mike Maignan had saved a penalty in the 22nd minute.  

Following a stunning performance by David de Gea, he took to his social media handle to express his joy. Through, a 10-word message, he explained his inspiring journey in football and highlighted how much he is enjoying his time in Italy.  

‘Started in Spain, made in Manchester, loving it in Italy’, he wrote as caption.  

AC Milan began the game on a great note, making numerous attacks but David de Gea stood firm and didn't allow the opposition to dominate. Yacine Adli helped the team take a 1-0 lead in the 35st minute. Milan kept attacking and Christian Pulisic finally netted the equalizer in the 60th minute. De Gea's presence didn't allow AC Milan to score another goal, while Fiorentina, on the other hand, made it 2-1 in the 73rd minute. It was Albert Gudmundsson, who found the back of the net and helped the team secure a stunning win.   

It is worth mentioning that David de Gea played for Manchester United for 12 seasons before calling it quits in 2023. Fiorentina signed him the following year and the decision has paid rich dividends. De Gea has impressed one and all with his recent performances for the club and it is being reported that Fiorentina might extend his one-year contract.
