Of course, the victory was celebrated by billionaire businessman of America Elon Musk. Notably, however, a victory would do just what it did for Al-Nassr: prop its campaign with four wins in five tournament games and boost the confidence of the Saudi side significantly.
Despite a rough first half, Ronaldo headed Al-Nassr into the lead inside the first minute of the second half and then added another in the 64th. Angelo Gabriel chipped in the other goal for Al-Nassr but Al-Gharafa's Joselu got some consolation in the 75th when he managed a strike. However, Al-Nassr are currently sitting at second spot in Group West of the AFC Champions League Elite. They are chasing leaders Al-Hilal, who have already qualified for the knockout stages. Al-Nassr will take on Al-Sadd of Qatar next and would look to continue the winning momentum.
Ronaldo turns recruiter for AL-Nassr?
Cristian Ronaldo, the forward from Portugal, is looking to be reunited with former Manchester United teammate Paul Pogba with Al-Nassr in Saudi Pro League, according to reports from journalist Massimo Pavan. Ronaldo has apparently been 'talking' Pogba into moving to Riyadh. Cristiano Ronaldo joined the Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr in January 2023, one of the mega transfers which also saw the arrival of Neymar, Karim Benzema, and Riyad Mahrez.
Pogba, however, has faced significant challenges in recent years, including an injury-plagued 2022/23 season at Juventus and a suspension following a failed anti-doping test. The current ban was reduced for the 31-year-old midfielder to 18 months, thus he will be eligible to play by March 2025. Despite his declared wish to stay at Juventus, it is unlikely that the club will take him back into the fold. There are indications that Juventus and Paul Pogba are heading towards the decision to terminate the contract.
