Erling Halaand and Gabriel

Gary Neville slams Arsenal star for trolling Erling Haaland on the pitch, labels the behaviour "disrespectful"

Arsenal and Manchester City completed their game more than 24 hours ago but the analysis and pundits continue to break down the game. The 5-1 win to Arsenal has opened multiple dialogues about player behavior, specifically Erling Haaland and Gabriel. When both sides met in September at Etihad Stadium, Erling Haaland had asked the Arsenal gaffer, Mikel Arteta, to remain humble after they went on to register a draw in the dying embers of the game.

While that had sparked the conversation back in the day, it died down as City went through a rough patch of the form. One more issue that came up during the game was Erling Haaland running to the player while also asking who is Lewis-Skilly. But it was the Gunners' turn to make up for that behavior, and Gabriel did not leave any stone unturned to rattle Erling Haaland during the game.

When Arsenal scored in the second minute of the game, he ran through screaming at Haaland. However, former Manchester United right-back, Gary Neville, mentioned that it was a little bit disrespectful to scream at the player’s face. At Sky Sports, he said:

I get the fact that Haaland's sort of Pantomime villain here today, but there's something about it that I didn't like about it. I was many things but I never did that. I never went and screamed in a player's face. I don't know, I just felt there's something about that I thought made me feel a little bit uneasy, a little bit disrespectful.

What next for Arsenal and Manchester City?

Arsenal find themselves in second place in the Premier League while they will turn their attention to the second leg of the Carabao Cup with a two-goal deficit against Newcastle United. In the first leg, Isak and Gordon scored the goals to put the Magpies ahead. They will look forward to pulling back the game.

On the other hand, Manchester City will face Leyton Orient in the FA Cup fixture on Saturday in the fourth round of the game. They will look to breeze through the opposition.
