Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are arguably two of the greatest football players ever to grace the sport. However, the debate around who is the greatest among them is never-ending and former player Gerard Pique has shared his thoughts on the same providing a unique viewpoint. Interestingly, Pique has played with both legendary players. He shared the field with Ronaldo during his time at Manchester United and also shared the dressing room with Messi while featuring for Barcelona.
The 37-year-old called the Portuguese superstar an exceptional human being but ultimately cast his vote for Messi in the GOAT discussion. Pique stated that Messi, as a player, is just out of this world and he is amazed at the way the Argentine has been playing after arriving at the age of 13.
“It was always different. Cristiano was the best of humans, Leo does not belong to this planet. I saw him train every day doing amazing things, there would be no other with his speed of thought. He arrived at the age of thirteen and played in the same way both in the academy and with the first team,” Pique said.
