Harry Kane expresses disappointment, says he is taken for granted
Harry Kane moved away from England two seasons ago and continue to thrive in Germany with his new teammates. The English star striker has left an incredible mark in Germany after breaking several records in England while playing for Tottenham Hotspur. However, ahead of the game against Albania at Wembley, he aired his disappointment about being sidelined and taken for granted in Germany. Talking about the unfair treatment of his, Harry Kane expressed that he is now being treated like Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi who used to score goals for fun and a season where they scored less than the benchmark, it would feel like having a bad season. Harry Kane said:
It's like when [Cristiano] Ronaldo and [Lionel] Messi were throwing these crazy numbers out there and the next season they'd score 40 goals instead of 50. It was like they were having a bad season
At Bayern Munich, ever since the move, the English marksman has scored over 76 goals from 82 fixtures. For the national team, Kane already has 69 goals and will look to add to the tally. However, he mentioned that his scoring against the likes of Albania and Latvia may have remained the prime reason behind him not getting the required traction for his achievements. He said:
People take it for granted and maybe a little bit with England as well. I've scored 69 goals and when you score against Albania or Latvia, or these teams, people just expect it so it's not spoken about so much
The former Tottenham Hotspur superstar went on to say that it might be his age because of which he is not getting the due respect. He mentioned that if he were to be at the age of 25 and score in the fashion that he is scoring now, he would have gotten the attention.
What is Harry Kane aiming for at the end of the season?
Harry Kane is currently in contention to win the Ballon d’Or with the hype around Mohamed Salah slowly dying down due to Liverpool’s poor week in Europe and England. Bayern Munich are in the title race and also in the Champions League trophy race where Harry Kane will have a big role to play.
