"He Reminds Me Of Thierry Henry"- Sky Sports Pundit Compares Newcastle Forward To Arsenal Legend

Dougie Critchley went on to compare Arsenal legend to Newcastle’s Alexander Isak as rumours around the striker moving to Arsenal are doing the rounds. The Sky Sports pundit believes there are quite a few similarities between the two players, with two of North London’s biggest clubs about to step into a battle to sign the Swedish forward. Isak has been phenomenal for Newcastle this season, having scored 15 goals in 22 Premier League appearances, just 3 goals behind the league’s top-scorer Erling Haaland who has 18 goals to his name. As per reports, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur both want to sign Isak and will engage in a war to get the forward to their respective camps. However, Mikel Arteta will have to shell out a whopping sum of 100 million pounds to get Isak to Arsenal, in addition to competing with arch-rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

Isak arrived at Newcastle in 2022 and has displayed stellar performances for the club since his arrival. He has scored 19 goals in 32 games across all competitions and is the joint-fifth contender to win the Golden Boot this year with 15 goals. Arsenal are in need of a striker and are actively scouting for one in the summer transfer market. An attacker will strengthen their squad even further under Mikel Arteta’s mentorship. Isak is Arsenal’s number one target at the moment, having been compared to France’s Thierry Henry by Dougie Critchley as well. Here’s what the Sky Sports pundit had to say about Isak’s abilities after he opened the scoring for Newcastle against Everton which resulted in a 1-1 draw.

"Alexander Isak is a really high-quality player. He sort of reminds me of Thierry Henry in his style of play. The way he manipulates defenders, manipulates goalkeepers."

To be compared to an absolute legend of the game like Thierry Henry has to be a milestone that Isak, only 24 years of age, has already achieved. Henry is regarded as one of the greatest players in not just Premier League history, but football history. The Frenchman smashed 228 goals with 103 assists in 377 appearances for the Gunners, having clinched the Premier League trophy twice. What remains to be seen is whether Arsenal will be able to bag a good deal for Isak this summer.
