It is impossible to bring in or even think about Neymar

Inter Miami's head coach, Javier Mascherano, has confirmed plans to bolster his squad in the upcoming Major League Soccer (MLS) season to provide additional support for Lionel Messi. However, when asked about the possibility of Brazilian forward Neymar joining the club, Mascherano swiftly dismissed the idea, calling it "impossible to think about." The rumors of a potential reunion between Messi and Neymar, once part of Barcelona's iconic 'MSN' attack alongside Luis Suarez, have resurfaced recently, sparking speculation among fans and pundits alike.

Neymar, currently playing for Saudi club Al-Hilal, addressed the ongoing transfer rumors in a recent interview. Despite the growing talk, the Brazilian international has not given any indication that he plans to leave the Middle East anytime soon. Mascherano, while acknowledging the club's efforts to strengthen their squad, emphasized that bringing in Neymar was not a realistic option, given his current commitments and the financial challenges involved. As Messi continues to be the focal point of Inter Miami’s ambition, the club's management is expected to pursue other signings that will complement their star player. With MLS set to return next season, Mascherano's focus remains on adding new faces who can contribute to the team's success, but for now, the prospect of a Messi-Neymar reunion remains a distant dream.

"Obviously, playing again with Messi and Suarez would be incredible. They are my friends, we still speak to each other. It would be interesting to revive this trio. I'm happy at Al-Hilal, I'm happy in Saudi Arabia, but who knows. Football is full of surprises," said Neymar in a recent interview.

The realities of Major League Soccer's salary cap and squad regulations make it impossible for Inter Miami to sign Neymar on a "Designated Player" contract similar to Lionel Messi's. Coach Javier Mascherano confirmed that, given the club's current situation, bringing in the 32-year-old Brazilian is simply not feasible. While Miami could theoretically free up space for Neymar by offloading some players to accommodate his high-paying contract, Mascherano remains focused on more modest goals.

Following a disappointing first-round exit from the playoffs, despite a dominant regular season, Miami has been actively reshaping their squad. Since Mascherano took over in late November, the club has sold several defenders as part of a broader plan to balance their roster and finances. Although there is interest in strengthening the team, Mascherano has made it clear that pursuing a move for Neymar is not a priority at this time. Miami's primary focus will be on making strategic signings to complement Messi and build a more well-rounded squad for the upcoming MLS season. While the idea of a Messi-Neymar reunion excites fans, the club's efforts will remain grounded in practicality and the need to improve the team's overall performance.

"Well, obviously everyone knows what Neymar is as a player, what we generated when we were together. Today we are in a different era, much older than we were at the time, but you are always excited to have a player like him and for the quality he can bring to the team," said Javier Mascherano.

"Afterwards, as he said and as everyone will say, anything can happen in football, but, well, they are expectations and hopes... but it is difficult and very complicated to make them come true," he added.
