Arsenal continue to keep their season on track despite the challenges posed by constant injuries and signings. Whenever the club has hit a roadblock, Mikel Arteta and Arsenal have turned their attention to their academy, which has continued to produce better players to fill senior roles. Even this season, the breakout star has been Ethan Nwaneri, who has stepped up at the right time to help his club in the title chase.

Everybody has admired the player and his talent. Even his friends at the English camp have been in awe of the talent the U21 player oozes. Talking to the media about the class and initial impression of the player, James McAtee labeled him “World-Class.” He said:

He’s a class player and in training he’s been unbelievable. ‘I’m so impressed with him. I was doing finishing drills with him the other day and he was ridiculous, he wasn’t missing

Being lyrical about the player, who was nothing short of astonishing against Portugal in the UEFA Nations League, McAtee mentioned that where he was struggling, Nwaneri was toying around. He said:

I was struggling to get them in and he just wasn’t missing, both feet as well. He’s a world-class player

What did Ray Parlour suggest to Arsenal while drawing comparison with Jack Wilshere?

Former Arsenal player Ray Parlour mentioned that Mikel Arteta and the club should be aware of what injuries and excessive workload could do to the young player. He asked Arteta to manage the workload of Ethan Nwaneri, citing the example of Jack Wilshere.

Parlour mentioned that Arsène Wenger saw the greatness in Wilshere, who went on to play week in and week out in the English Premier League to the point where he got injured and his career was derailed. Parlour advocated for Arteta to phase players slowly into the XI and allow them to develop physically too. He said:

You want to play for your country whenever you can, there’s no doubt about that and I’m sure he’s the same. As much as you want to do well for your club you also want to develop in the Under-21s and get into the senior team
