Real Madrid’s star midfielder, Jude Bellingham is reportedly likely to feature in the team’s next match against Sevilla in the La Liga. He suffered an injury during the Intercontinental Cup final against Pachuca earlier this week. For the unversed, Real Madrid won their second silverware this season with a comfortable 3-0 win in the summit clash of the FIFA Intercontinental Cup.
Bellingham featured in the clash for 88 minutes for Los Blancos before he was forced off with an apparent quadriceps injury to his right thigh. Youngster Arda Guler replaced him for the rest of the match with Madrid winning it easily. However, according to a report from Mundo Deportivo, the club is expecting Bellingham to be available for the La Liga giants in their next clash against Sevilla on the weekend. According to the experts, the star player escaped serious damage to his thigh and would be ready to go after a few days of rest.
It is a crucial game for Real Madrid as they are sitting in third place in the La Liga points table. However, the top two teams are not far off as both Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are at 38 points each.
On the other hand, Madrid have a game in hand and have won 11, drawn four, and lost two with 37 points to their name. Interestingly, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are also set to face each other on the weekend. This means that a win over Sevilla will take Real Madrid to at least the second position in the table.
How has Bellingham performed for Real Madrid this season?
Meanwhile, Real Madrid will be sweating on Jude Bellingham’s fitness as he is in great form. Prior to the Intercontinental Cup final, he had scored in five successive appearances. Even though he couldn’t score against Pachuca, he was vital in creating the opportunity, playing a part in their opening goal in Qatar.
As far as this season is concerned, the 21-year-old has netted seven goals in 19 appearances for the club to go with five assists.
