Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah has admitted that there is still a dilemma around his contract extension with the club. Interestingly, his exceptional performance led the Reds to a stunning 2-0 win over Manchester City in the Premier League on Sunday (December 1). Salah scored the second goal for the team in the 78th minute, converting a penalty. It has been a sensational season for the 32-year-old so far. He has scored 11 goals in 13 appearances in the Premier League to go with seven assists. At the same time, in the UEFA Champions League, Salah has found the nets once and provided assists in four after five outings.

However, much to the disappointment of the fans, Salah’s contract with the club expires at the end of this season. Liverpool is yet to offer him the extension as well. The superstar football player, as it stands, is likely to negotiate with other clubs from January 2025 and depart from Anfield as a free agent.

After a 2-0 win over Manchester City, he was asked about the same and Salah didn’t deny of possibly playing the last Liverpool vs City clash.

“Honestly… it's in my head. Until now this is the last Man City game I will play for Liverpool, so I was just going to enjoy it. I will enjoy every second here. Hopefully, we just win the league and will see what will happen,” he said (via Fabrizio Romano on X).

Salah has scored a plethora of goals for Liverpool over the years

Mohamed Salah’s exit would be a massive loss for Liverpool. He has been playing for the club since the 2017-18 season and has made 352 appearances for the Reds, so far. Salah has netted a staggering 221 goals so far and going by his form, the superstar is bound to add a few more to his tally for the rest of the season.

It remains to be seen if the standoff between him and the club ends in the meantime. Salah’s absence will surely hurt Liverpool in the long term as he has played for the club for eight seasons now. The fans will surely be hoping that the two parties sign a contract extension by the time this season comes to a conclusion.
