Liverpool wins Premier League; Arne Slot sends a Thank You to Jurgen Klopp

What a fairy tale season it has been for Liverpool. Starting from the highnote to winning the title with minimum spend under the new manager, Liverpool have seen it all. On Sunday, with a win against Tottenham Hotspur, Aren Slot’s men registered the Premier League title. The winner of the 2024/25 season, Arne Slot sent a “Thank You” to Liverpool’s previous manager, Jurgen Klopp. 

Talking to the media after the 3-1 victory against Tottenham Hotspur, Arne Slot was euphoric and felt great. He mentioned that he needs the time to express his feelings but the only thing he wants to do at the moment is to send appreciation to Jurgen Klopp for building the formidable side. He also mentioned that Jurgen Klopp would have already sent a congratulatory message to him. He said: 

It feels great. I don't think I want to say a lot. The only thing now is to send my appreciation to Jurgen Klopp

I am 99.9% sure that if I pick up my phone there will be a message from Jurgen

Talking about how the season panned out, Arne Slot mentioned that the side would have been happy with the top four qualification after the transfer window and the momentum they had. However, it is not a fair assessment of what players have endured and produced in the ongoing campaign. Slot said:

When the season started, we would have been happy with top four. But I don't think that is fair on the players as they are much better than that and they have shown it this season

What did Virgil van Dijk has to say about the 2024/25 title triumph? 

After becoming the first-ever Dutch captain to win the Premier League title, Virgil van Dijk wanted to thank his fans for sticking around the side. He mentioned that he was desperate to win it for the fans and players who had come very close on previous occasions. 

I was desperate to win it for them [the fans] and all the fans around the world, and for us as well
