Manchester United snuffed out a draw at Anfield after a great game in which both teams went to loggerheads to take over three points. Coming from a series of defeats against sides like Wolverhampton Wanderers and Newcastle United, the Red Devils' fans expected nothing but a defeat. However, the draw seemed like a loss after two incidents for Manchester United.
The fans have also called for a player’s head after a scintillating draw at Anfield. In a fixture where a lot was at stake for Ruben Amorim and Manchester United players, they stood up when it mattered the most. While the Red Devils kept the Anfield outfit at bay in the first half, in the second half, they sprang surprise when Lisandro Martinez found the back of the second half. However, the Merseysiders found the back of the net via Cody Gakpo. And soon, they also led the game 2-1 after de Ligt conceded a penalty.
The penalty incident irked Manchester United fans’ and called for the player’s head as he was also responsible for not getting the right side of Gakpo while defending the first goal. Ruben Amorim has multiple defenders at his disposal during the ongoing campaign and he might want to rotate de Ligt as he continues to feature in multiple games. Harry Maguire has been a mainstay in the defense with Lisandro Martinez. Yoro is slowly growing to the role which might allow the club’s management to reassess the priorities.
