Manchester United have had their ups and downs in the ongoing season, including sacking their manager, players struggling to find form, strikers failing to score, and dealing with multiple injuries. Their star attacker, Amad Diallo, has also been sidelined with a long-term injury in recent times. While it was previously rumored that the player would not be available until the end of the season, the club has now provided an injury update.

According to Manchester United's official handle, they are expecting the Ivory Coast winger to return to the side before the end of the campaign. They posted a photo of the player returning to Carrington after injury. Manchester United, on their official handle, posted on Wednesday with the caption:

A sight that will brighten your Wednesday 🥰

Amad Diallo has been the silver lining in the dark clouds for Manchester United in an otherwise dull season. He has been rightly profiled by Ruben Amorim, who has deployed the player both as a wing-back and as a winger. Amad has repaid that faith with 12 goal contributions in 22 Premier League appearances, along with two goals in eight appearances in Europe. He was instrumental in Manchester United’s derby day victory at the Etihad earlier this season.

Speaking to the media, Ruben Amorim previously said that the left-footed footballer will return to action before the end of the season. The Portuguese manager mentioned that Amad has been anxious to return to football and that they are waiting for him:

We hope to have him before the season is finished. We'll see, but he's anxious to play, so we are waiting for him.

What happened to Manchester United in the Europa League quarter-finals?

With the entire season for Manchester United now pinned on the Europa League, they faced Lyon in France. Despite not having a flying start and conceding a goal in the 25th minute, Bruno Fernandes and Yoro combined to level the score by halftime. When it looked like Manchester United had snatched a win with an 88th-minute strike from Joshua Zirkzee, a costly error from André Onana in injury time made it 2-2, putting the entire onus on the home leg.
