Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim feels his team should be brave in order to tackle the Arsenal challenge in their upcoming Premier League clash. The two heavyweights are scheduled to face each other at the Emirates Stadium on December 5 at 1:45 AM IST. The United have not lost a single game in three outings ever since Amorim has taken over the reins of the team. They defeated Bodo/Glimt 3-2, and Everton 4-0 and prior to that, the team had drawn 1-1 with Ipswich Town in the Premier League.
However, the real test for the United will be against Arsenal who are placed second in the points table this season with seven wins, four draws, two losses in 13 outings. On the other hand, Ruben Amorim’s side has improved in the last couple of weeks to be at the ninth place in the standings with five wins, four losses and as many draws so far.
Manchester United’s recent record against Arsenal is also poor having lost the last three matches. For the same reason, Amorim reckons, United will have to be at their best and understand the key moments of the game to clinch victory.
“It’s the best team that we have faced by far. But a test is every game. If you saw the last game (against Everton), it was really tough. t’s important to be brave (on Wednesday), when I say it’s brave it’s not pressing all the time higher. It’s not the same. You have to understand the game, the moments of the game. We need to have the ball, that is a key point,” he told the reporters on Monday.
Ruben Amorim confirms captain Bruno Fernandes is fit
Meanwhile, Manchester United fans can heave a sigh of relief as Ruben Amorim has confirmed that the skipper Bruno Fernandes is fit and raring to go against Arsenal. He was taken off in the 66th minute of the Everton clash on Sunday after sustaining an ankle injury.
The Red Devils skipper was seen wearing an ice pack on his left ankle on the sidelines before walking down the tunnel. Amorim confirmed that Fernandes trained with the team and is fit to take the field at the Emirates Stadium.
