Manchester United footballer Harry Maguire has been fined 666 pounds and suspended for 56 days from driving for overspeeding while driving a Range Rover. According to a BBC report, in March 2024, Maguire was caught on camera driving at 85 mph while coming out of the tunnel under the runway of Manchester Airport. His speed was 35 mph more as it was the 50 mph drive zone. However, this is not the only offense from him. Harry Maguire, according to the Mirror, was captured overspeeding again two days after the aforementioned incident. He was reportedly driving his Range Rover at 68 mph in a 60 mph zone and was penalized, accordingly.
He was ordered to pay a 1000 pounds fine and had three points added to that license. For his overspeeding offence near the Manchester Airport, the Bolton Magistrates Court ordered him to pay 120 pounds in costs plus a 266 pounds surcharge, apart from the fine and the suspension.
Harry Maguire has been playing for Manchester United since the 2019-20 season
On the professional front, Harry Maguire has been playing for Manchester United since the 2019-20 season. The club extended his contract recently by 12 months. The 31-year-old has been a key figure in the Red Devils’ line-up but hasn’t been able to stay true to his reputation in what has been a tumultuous season for him.
Maguire has made a staggering 206 appearances for Manchester United in his career across competitions so far and despite being a centre-back player, has scored 10 goals. He will next be in action in the FA Cup in Manchester United’s next match against Arsenal on January 12 (Sunday) and is expected to make it to the starting XI.
Meanwhile, Manchester United are in 13th position in the Premier League this season with only six wins from 20 matches so far. The appointment of new manager Ruben Amorim has improved things but not considerably so far for the club. Their next match in the Premier League is scheduled for January 17 against Southampton.
