Manchester United's Patrick Dorgu adds Nigerian heritage to shirt name

According to recent reports, Manchester United has changed the name of Patrick Dorgu on both the website and his shirt. The player previously had the five-letter "Dorgu" on his back, which looked elegant. The player, who was making lung-busting runs on the field, will now have an additional name on his shirt. From now on, the shirt may read Patrick Chinazaekpere Dorgu to reflect his beliefs. 

"Chinazaekpere" means "God answers prayers" in Igbo and has been requested by the player's parents to be included to reflect his Nigerian heritage and religious beliefs. This is not the first time a player has requested a name change. Previously, Leicester's Bobby De Cordova-Reid was known only as Bobby Reid until 2018, when the player requested to add "De Cordova" to reflect the work and impact of his mother on his life. Additionally, former Manchester United player Andrew Cole added "Andrew" to his shirt, although he was known as "Andy."

What did Ruben Amorim have to say about Patrick Dorgu? 

After Manchester United secured the victory against Real Sociedad in the second leg of the tie with a comprehensive performance, Ruben Amorim spoke highly about the Danish footballer’s performance as well as his actions on the field. Dorgu was fouled in the box, allowing Manhcester United to get an additional penalty. However, the wing-back went to the referee to reverse the situation. While Ruben Amorim applauded the player for doing the right thing, he also funnily mentioned that it would depend on the situation of the club in the game. 

It depends. It is the right thing to do. So I am quite proud of him, but it depends. I cannot say if it is 0-0 or we are losing, if I would have the same response! So he did well. He did a great performance and he was improving during the game. 

Talking about the player’s positional awareness and physicality, he mentioned that the player has both to succeed in the league. He said:
