Manchester United new head coach Ruben Amorim is set to use Marcus Rashford out of his position in the next Premier League fixture, according to reports. The Red Devils are likely to field a 3-4-3 system in order to help the English forward return to form. For the unversed, Amorim officially took over the reins of the club on Monday (November 11) but will be able to begin his stint in their next outing in the Premier League.
All club teams are currently enjoying an international break with the matches set to resume on November 23 (Saturday). The United are scheduled to face Ipswich Town on the same day at 11 PM IST with all the focus set on Rashford.
His form is on a severe decline especially this season. The 27-year-old has scored only a solitary goal in 11 outings in the Premier League this season. In the Europa League, he has found the net once in four outings while in the EFL Cup, Rashford has struck twice in as many matches so far.
His performance is certainly not up to the mark even as the attacker will be hoping to turn things around quickly.
Rashford part of Amorim’s future plans?
Ever since Ruben Amorim has been appointed the head coach of Manchester United, there have been several reports of him wanting to part ways with multiple players. However, Marcus Rashford doesn’t seem to be one of them as according to Dean Jones of GiveMeSport, Amorim is planning to allow the talented player to shine as a new No.9 in his 3-4-3 system.
With this tactical change, it remains to be seen if Rashford will be able to rediscover his form in the ongoing season. Meanwhile, Bruno Fernandes is backing Manchester United's new manager to work wonders for the club thanks to his previous record with Sporting FC. According to him, Amorim will infuse the much needed energy in the team on his arrival and that will work in favour of the club.
“This is the right moment for him to come, bring his energy, his qualities and his knowledge of football because he did something very special at Sporting.
“I watched almost all of Sporting's games. [Amorim] is someone who brought the excitement back to the club. He brought a lot of good things to the club and hopefully, he can do the same here because sometimes a person can change the energy of a space if it's the right moment,” Fernandes said.
