Paul Scholes is impressed with Moises Caicedo for his recent performance against Manchester United. Chelsea and the Red Devils played out a 1-1 draw in the ongoing Premier League season over the weekend and Caicedo was the one who scored an equaliser for his team.

Scholes claimed that Caicedo was the best midfielder of the match played at the Old Trafford on Sunday (November 3). He was in awe of the 23-year-old for the way he performed in the clash of giants even as Scholes expressed his wish to play with the midfielder.

“Moises Caicedo is the type of player you want to play with, you need that type of player. He was probably the best out of the four [on the pitch],” Scholes, who played for Manchester United during his playing time, said via Chelsea News.

As far as the match is concerned, Manchester United took a 1-0 lead with Bruno Fernandes converting a penalty in the 70th minute. But the Blue leveled within the next four minutes as Caicedo found the net from the edge of the box.

Paul Scholes comes down hard at Marcus Rashford

Paul Scholes, meanwhile, has criticized Marcus Rashford for missing a straightforward chance during the Chelsea clash. At the stroke of the first half, he got a brilliant pass from Fernandes but Rashford’s kick went against the crossbar. According to Scholes, the Englishman didn’t keep things simple and that led to him missing the goal.

“I expect him to do better. I think he is trying to make the goal look better by going high into the roof of the net. It is quite a simple side-foot volley from seven yards. All he has to do is keep it down,” Scholes further added.

Manchester United are having issues in scoring goals in the ongoing Premier League season. They have scored only nine goals so far in 10 outings, the third-worst tally of the season. They are at the 13th position in the table with only 12 points to their name while Chelsea are placed much better at the fourth position with 18 points.

The Red Devils will next face Leicester City on Sunday (November 10) while the Blues will lock horns against Arsenal on the same day.
