Phil Foden struggled in the game against Manchester United as he limped off in the 58th minute, replaced by Jeremy Doku. He created one chance in the game and also missed the only big chance of Manchester City at Old Trafford. The 24-year-old had a game to forget in the Premier League.
What did Pep Guardiola say about the result?
On the other hand, talking about the game, Pep Guardiola underlined the importance of the best performance to win the fixture at Old Trafford. He spoke about how his side took time to build up and highlighted the best part of the game. In the end, he also mentioned that he would take the point and move forward for the rest of the campaign. Pep Guardiola said:
Old Trafford is Old Trafford. You always need a good performance to win. We tried to make a good build-up, get crosses really well and tried to control the situations.in the second half in the first 10 or 15 mins it was our best moment.
We take the point and we move forward.
What next for Manchester City?
Manchester City are staring at a season where there is no trophy in their cabinet. A phenomenon where the club won the treble in recent years, they are now facing a trophy drought despite spending significantly. They are in the semifinals of the FA Cup and will face Nottingham Forest on April 27th at Wembley in a bid to win at least one trophy. They will also hope to make it to the Champions League via the fourth spot, as they are just a point behind Chelsea.
