According to recent reports across media outlets, Real Madrid have abstained from participating in the press conference and training, as the Spanish outfit believes that the selection of referees is not impartial and can have a direct impact on the game. Alongside this, the club is also set to boycott any official activities and dinners after hearing the comments made by the designated referee of the Copa del Rey final, Ricardo de Burgos Bengoetxea. This step comes after the RFEF decided not to heed Los Blancos' request to change the referee due to his previous remarks.

The official referee of the game, Ricardo de Burgos Bengoetxea, mentioned that his child was bullied after the criticism made by the club via Real Madrid TV. He said that when a child goes through this at school, where his father is called a thief, it is really tough. He also said that despite his attempts to teach his son that he is an honest individual who can make mistakes on the field, it remains difficult. Ricardo added that he wants his son to feel proud on the day his father retires. He said:

When your child goes to school and is told his father is a 'thief' and comes home crying, it's really tough. What I'm doing is trying to educate my son, to tell him that his father is honest, that he makes mistakes like any other athlete.

It's a real pain, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. The day I leave here, I want my son to be proud of what his father was and what refereeing is, which has given us so many values.

What did Carlo Ancelotti mention about his career with the club?

While there have been questions about Carlo Ancelotti’s career at the club, the Italian mentioned that he is happy with the pressure and stress that come with being the club manager. He dismissed the possibility of being sacked ahead of the finals. He said:

You see success very close and it's normal for stress to increase, but stress is fuel for me, it doesn't bother me, it gives me more energy to think about more things. As long as I continue to get up in the morning, everything is fine
