Real Madrid have reportedly approached legend Zinedine Zidane to bring the best out of the French superstar Kylian Mbappe, who is struggling. He joined the club this summer for the 2024-25 season but his form has deserted big time which has surprised many. There were huge expectations from him when he made the highly anticipated switch from Paris Saint-Germain to Madrid. He had joined the club on a free transfer after his contract with PSG expired, however, the star player reportedly earned a sign-on bonus and massive wages.
As far as Kylian Mbappe’s performances are concerned this season, he has netted only nine goals in 18 appearances for Real Madrid while assisting in two. This show from him is nowhere close to his potential, according to many experts. For the same reason, according to reports by Spanish outlet SPORT via Madrid Universal, Madrid have turned to the former Los Blancos player and manager to help Mbappe out for him to return to form.
Many believe the 25-year-old has not been able to adjust to Carlo Ancelotti’s system. But the superstar from France played as a left flank, in his preferred position in the UEFA Champions League clash against Liverpool. But he endured a forgettable outing while also missing a penalty as Real Madrid lost the match 0-2.
Michel Platini backs Mbappe to bounce back
Despite all his struggles, French legend Michel Platini is backing Kylian Mbappe to rediscover his form with Real Madrid. According to him, the star player is looking a bit lost at the moment having lost control on the ball on 15 occasions in the Liverpool clash. However, Platini believes Mbappe will come back from this phase soon.
“I see him looking a bit lost on the pitch. A great champion must rise from the ashes, systematically. This is what will make Kylian a great champion. It will only be a small bump, for French football and for him,” Platini said as quoted by SPORT.
Kylian Mbappe will next be in action against Getafe on December 1 at 8:45 PM IST in the LaLiga. Real Madrid are currently in second place in the competition with nine wins from 13 matches.
