Liverpool fans are happier than they were two weeks ago regarding their senior professionals. It seemed like the holy trinity of Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk, and Trent Alexander Arnold were leaving the club at the end of the season due to the contract situation. While Trent Alexander Arnold’s situation hangs in balance, the Egyptian King and the Dutch defender have extended their contracts. While the official details about the wages are yet to be released, the Athletic mentioned that the player will be drawing close to half a million dollars every week at Anfield.

The report suggested that the player will not be taking the pay cut and will continue to earn a salary as he is currently drawing. While the salary might remain largely in the guaranteed setup, the incentives in the new contract are largely based on the team's success rather than individual performances. The reports also suggest that the player will be one of the best-paid defenders in Europe with the renewed contract at Liverpool Football Club. The report read:

There are no break or release clauses in the fresh terms and the centre-back will not be taking a pay cut, meaning he continues to earn a salary believed to be in the region of £400,000 ($530k) per week. The wages are largely guaranteed — and expected to maintain his status as Europe’s best-paid defender — with the only incentives relating to team success rather than individual performance.

Who will Liverpool play next in the Premier League?

Liverpool are out of all competitions but the English Premier League where they lead the table by 13 points with six games remaining in the competition. The Merseyside outfit need two wins to seal the title without any hiccups.

They will play Leicester City in their next game in the English top flight who are facing a relegation threat. Post the game against the Foxes, they have their next three games in London, facing Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal. If the Slot’s side can win the next two games, Arsenal might have to give the “guard of honor” to their opposition.
