Cristiano Ronaldo has wished the best for the new head coach of Manchester United Ruben Amorim. The Portuguese manager left the Sporting CP team to officially take charge of the team on November 11 (Monday). The Red Devils struggled last season even though they won the FA Cup and things didn’t improve at the start of the ongoing season as well.

For the same reason, Erik ten Hag was sacked from the role and was replaced with Amorim. He is one of the most exciting young coaches in the world at the moment and is coming off after changing the fortunes of Sporting CP since taking charge in 2020. Amorim won two league titles with the club in four years and has yet another challenge in front of him and that is to turn things around for the English giants.

According to UtdPlug, Ronaldo opened up on United’s new coach and wished him the best at the role. “I wish him the greatest luck in the world because Manchester needs it,” the football superstar said.

Manchester United are currently in the bottom half of the Premier League points table. They are at 13th place after 11 matches with only 15 points to their name having won four, drawn three, and lost four. It will take a massive effort from Amorim to turn around the fortunes of the club at least in this season.

Ronaldo’s dream return to ManU didn’t go to plan

For the unversed, Ronaldo’s dream return to Manchester United didn’t go to plan as he was with the club during the 2021-22 and 2022-23 season. He scored 27 goals in 53 appearances for the club but had a fallout with Erik ten Hag and that eventually led to Ronaldo’s exit in December 2022. The Red Devils terminated his contract and then he joined Al-Nassr at the end of 2022.

However, Ronaldo has had a good time with his Saudi club so far in 72 appearances. The 39-year-old has netted a staggering 65 goals to go with 18 assists. His contract with the club is set to expire next year and it remains to be seen if it will be renewed or the veteran has to look for another home at the fag end of his career.
