As the saying goes in English, when it rains, it pours. And Manchester United’s situation is no different. The club continues to reel under the poor performances in the English top flight. In the recent game against Newcastle United, the Red Devils meekly surrendered to the opposition without a fight. This has not gone well with the Manchester United legends, particularly Roy Keane, who has gone to call out the club players and the club captain, Bruno Fernandes. Bruno Fernandes has become a target in recent times for Roy Keane, who has continuously called him out.

Despite the criticism, the Portuguese superstar has continued to perform better than the rest of the players, to drag his side to the quarterfinals of the competition. However, he came again in the line of fire after his press conference against Newcastle United. Tearing the player apart, Roy Keane mentioned that Bruno Fernandes’ words about having belief will mean nothing if he is not demanding enough. The former Manchester United skipper also mentioned that he is demanding enough in the dressing room. Roy Keane said:

He was talking about his teammates and belief but what about his right-back, [Diogo] Dalot, who didn't put a leg out to tackle? I hope he is pulling him in the dressing room because he keeps talking about having belief in his teammates but real good teammates put demands on each other

Roy Keane also called out the other players saying that the team does not have enough “players who can run” and questioned the willingness. He said:

There are not enough players who can run in the team. I don't think there are players who want to run. Not enough of a goal threat. You've got to dig deep, even when you're up against it and they didn't do that in the second half.

Can Manchester United turn it around?

Manchester United’s campaign is now entirely hinged on the Europa League fixture on Thursday where the score stands 2-2. The fixture is at Old Trafford and the club will look to avoid the mistakes that they committed against Newcastle United on Sunday.
