The January transfer window of the 2024/25 season has come to an end and the club of stature like Manchester United, though, have struggled significantly, they have gone on to not sign any players beyond Patrick Dorgu. But at the same time, they have let go of Marcus Rashford and Antony on loan, raising concerns about the lack of attacking options for the rest of the season.

While Ruben Amorim and Marcus Rashford have not been on good terms as they fell out due to unidentified reasons, the questions continued about the English international to Amorim in the press conference ahead of the FA Cup fixture with Leicester City.

The Portuguese gaffer did not hold back and went on to mention how the players and himself are fighting for their jobs till summer. He also went on to mention that the player is now with Aston Villa and urged them to ask questions to Emery rather than him. In the presser, he said:

Guys, in the summer, like we said before, we are fighting for our jobs until the summer. So I’m just focused on these games. Thankfully, about Marcus, he’s in Birmingham now, with Unai [Emery], so you can take the questions for these months to another coach. We are focused just on our players at the moment

How is Manchester United doing this season?

In the ongoing season, Manchester United continues to struggle across attack and midfield while they have shown adaptability in defense. The midfield have been dissected by the opposition easily whereas the attackers have struggled to find the back of the net easily. Also, the team has failed to stay consistent across games. Winning three games in a row has become an arduous task for the team. Manchester United are 13th on the Premier League points table. The silver lining in the cloud are them finished in top 8 of the Europa League while also qualifying for the fourth round of the FA Cup.

What next for Manchester United?

Before resuming their Premier League duties, Manchester United will play Leicester City in the FA Cup fixture on 7th February.
