Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim is happy with the team’s progress after their dramatic win over Arsenal in the third round of the FA Cup. For the unversed, the Red Devils defeated Arsenal 5-3 in penalties after the two teams finished at 1-1 even in extra time. The loss knocked Arsenal out of the competition even as United manager Amorim looked at signs of improvement in his team.

The win is special for Manchester United as they were down to 10 men after the 61st minute with the referee showing Diogo Dalot the red card. They were leading 1-0 at the time thanks to Bruno Fernandes’ goal in the 52nd minute. But soon after going down to 10 men, Arsenal leveled with Gabriel Magalhaes finding the net.

However, Manchester United managed to hold them off in the rest of the clash even as Havertz missed out on a simple chance in the last 10 minutes. Amorim was particularly pleased with how his team played in the game and also claimed that they were better in the first half. He also noted that they played well as a group after Dalot was sent off.

“I think we played, especially in the first-half, we played better than in the first game. We were better in set pieces today, more aggressive. We showed a different spirit, even with 10 men, we are improving on that aspect,” Amorim told reporters after the match.
