Manchester United recently announced their plans to build a new stadium in Manchester. The proposed stadium is designed to host 100,000 fans while also serving as a hub for events in England. While discussions continue over the debate between Old Trafford and the proposed "New Trafford," Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs has expressed doubts about the project's potential completion.

The player with the most appearances for Manchester United, Ryan Giggs, questioned whether the stadium will ever be completed. According to reports, the club and its owners might need to shell out £2 billion to complete the construction of the complex and stadium. While many believe this is a reasonable price to pay for world-class amenities, Giggs suggested that the club could have followed the example of Real Madrid and Barcelona, both of whom refurbished their existing stadiums.

"Whether or not it's doable is anyone's guess. It's obviously a massive project, and it's going to cost a lot of money. I'd like to see it happen, but I just think there’s so much money involved and so many things that need to go right," Giggs remarked.

Speaking to the media, Giggs further stated that if it were feasible, the club should have continued playing at Old Trafford, a stadium rich with unparalleled memories. However, he acknowledged that Manchester United has historically led the way in technological advancements and fan experiences, and the proposed new stadium would align with that tradition.

"I think everyone, if it was possible, would like to keep the stadium as it is. Man United has always been at the forefront of technology, providing the best facilities, the best stadium, and the best fan experience, but we’ve fallen behind in that regard," he said.

While Giggs praised the ambitious plans, he also expressed hope that the new management would prioritize achieving top-quality performances on the pitch.

Who Are Manchester United Playing Next in the League?

After a poor start to the season that saw them as relegation contenders just weeks ago, Manchester United have managed to claw their way back in the Premier League. Their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League now hinge on winning the Europa League. Following the international break, the Red Devils are set to face Nottingham Forest in a midweek fixture.
