Sergi Roberto & Christensen ruled out of 2nd leg of UCL quarter-final vs PSG

Sergi Roberto & Andreas Christensen Ruled Out Of UCL Quarter-Final 2nd Leg vs PSG

Barcelona have lost Sergi Roberto and Andreas Christensen to suspensions for the second leg against PSG in the Champions League next week. The absence of both the players will certainly be felt in the second leg. However, Barcelona went into the UCL quarter-final with quite a few players who were just one ban away from missing the succeeding game. Xavi will surely be relieved that only 2 of his players will miss the crucial UCL second leg at home against PSG. While PSG were the favourites to win the 1st leg, given the home advantage, Xavi's Barcelona had a trick up their sleeve as they clinched a 3-2 victory over the French giants.

Scoring three goals in an away game against PSG is not what football fans expected from the Catalans, but that is exactly what went down. PSG's star striker Kylian Mbappe was kept silent throughout the match by Ronald Araujo and the Frenchman could not find the back of the net. On the other hand, former Barcelona striker Ousmane Dembele opened the scoring for PSG in the second half and even celebrated his first goal in the Champions League for PSG.

FC Barcelona opened the scoring in the first half, courtesy of a goal from Raphinha, who was splendid in front of the goal last night. Raphinha got 2 goals under his belt in the UCL quarter-final against PSG and was also awarded the Man of the Match award for his clinical performance. The first half concluded 1-0, as PSG failed to create any major goal-scoring chances to draw level with the visitors.

Sergi Roberto and Andreas Christensen’s presence will certainly be missed by Barcelona, given the impact made by both the players in the 1st leg. There were a number of players from the Barca squad that were just one card away from getting banned from the succeeding match. Xavi will be relieved to lose only 2 players in the second leg. Christensen and Roberto performed exceedingly well in the UCL match against PSG, with Christensen scoring the winner at the 77th minute mark. What remains to be seen is whether Luis Enrique's side can turn things around in the 2nd leg at Barcelona's home.
