Throughout history, they have seen multiple relegation heartbreaks, promotion triumphs, and some memorable and sweet victories against the league’s giants. The Cherries have produced the forwards, who left a mark on the club as well as the league’s history.

The goalscorers of AFC Bournemouth have shown that determination, recruitment, and tactical acumen can make the playing field level where there are sides that boast star-studded attacks. Here are the top five goal scorers for AFC Bournemouth in the Premier League era who have hoisted the flag of Vitality Stadium-based outfit high to etch their names in the remarkable history of the league.

Top five goalscorers for AFC Bournemouth in Premier League history

1) Joshua King: 48 goals - 161 games

While the Norwegian international plies his trade with FC Toulouse, Joshua King has been a Premier League top scorer for Cherries with 48 goals from 161 Premier League games. Breaking through the ranks of the Red Devils, Joshua King played for multiple outfits in the Premier League before joining AFC Bournemouth in 2015 on a free transfer. During his six-year stint with the Cherries, he transformed himself from a raw prospect to a complete forward. His best performance was against his former club Manchester United in 2019 where he showcased everything - the pace, the power, and precise finishing.

King never shied from hard work and effort on the pitch. Wherever he is deployed, as a striker, winger, or supporting striker, it was his intelligent runs and physical presence that made him a nightmare for defenders. He stuck through the tough times of the club, making him a true Cherries hero.

2) Callum Wilson - 41 goals - 126 games

Currently featuring as a striker for Newcastle United, Callum Wilson is the hero of AFC Bournemouth with 41 goals in 126 appearances in the English Premier League. He was a testament to resilience and determination. Despite being injury-ridden with two serious knee injuries during his Bournemouth stint, he returned stronger with greater mental strength. Callum Wilson joined AFC Bournemouth in a deal worth €3.7 million from Coventry City in 2014 and stayed with the outfit for more than half a decade. His finest performance came against a 4-0 victory over Huddersfield Town in 2018. He completed a rout against a struggling town with a hat trick.

Callum Wilson formed a great understanding and partnership with Ryan Fraser. Both had a telepathic understanding between them, where Wilson used to understand Scosman’s delivery. He has one of the highest goals to game ratio with closer to 0.33 in the English top-flight.

3) Dominik Solanke - 28 goals - 113 games

After a slow start to his career with Chelsea and Liverpool, Dominik Solanke became one of the catalysts in AFC Bournemouth’s resilient squad when they had gone down. While he cost Cherries €21.2 million in 2019, he made sure he earned back double that money when he exited the club. He is the third-highest goalscorer in the history of Spurs, with 28 goals from 113 games.

Soon after his arrival to the English top flight, he had only one season to his name before coming back to the English top flight two seasons later. His all-around game ensured that the Cherries not only stayed in the league but also thrived. In the 2023/24 season, he had the best of his career with 19 goals and three assists to his name

4) Junior Stanislas - 20 goals - 103 games

While the numbers don't tell the profound impact left by the English international, Junior Stanislas has the fourth highest goals in AFC Bournemouth’s history. The set-piece expertise and technical ability provided a different dimension to the Cherries’ attack across competitions. His most memorable moment was against Everton in 2016 where he scored directly from the corner, underlining his unique skill set. Whether it be a crucial free-kick or a well-timed run, Junior Stanislas was always a spectacle to watch for. His versatility across the attacking positions made him a valuable asset during Bournemouth's Premier League campaigns, often providing crucial goals in tight matches.

5) Justin Kluivert - 18 goals* - 56 games

One of the most touted forwards in the English Premier League in the 2024/25 season, Justin Kluivert, has shown glimpses of the blood that runs through him. The son of legendary Dutch international Patrick Kluivert, Justin Kluivert, has brought flair and excitement to Andoni Iraola’s squad. He has already scored 18 goals from 56 Premier League games with an impressive 0.32 goals per 90, one of the highest amongst the forwards of the Cherries. Kluivert is an exceptional combination of technical ability and explosive speed. His ability to make runs, take on defenders, and finishing prowess makes him a special talent. With a significant career ahead, he might be on his way to becoming the AFC Bournemouth’s best forward in history.
