Real Madrid is set to get a massive boost as winger Vinicius Jr is set to return from injury. For the unversed, he suffered a biceps femoris injury to his left leg during the match against Leganes on November 24. He was expected to miss out on a month’s action since then and has not played the last three matches for Madrid - in their win against Getafe and defeats against Liverpool and Athletic Club. However, the 24-year-old has returned to training already and it is reported that the Brazil player might return to Madrid’s upcoming clash in the Champions League.

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that Vinicius Jr is fit but won’t be yet available at least for the next couple of days. However, he is confident that the Brazilian will be able to return to the field for the Champions League clash. At the same time, defender David Alaba still needs time to return to action. He is unlikely to make a comeback this month.

“Seeing Vinicius is good news, he has recovered very well. He won't be ready for tomorrow, but he will be ready for the Champions League. Alaba has helped us a lot in training, but he needs another month. He will be back in January. The deadline for him is next year,” Ancelotti said while speaking to the media.

Real Madrid will be up next against Girona on Sunday (December 8) while Vinicius’ comeback match will be against Atalanta on Tuesday (December 10).

How has been Vinicius Jr’s form this season?

Vinicius Jr has been playing for Real Madrid since the 2018-19 season and has made 189 appearances for the club in LaLiga. He has scored 58 goals and assisted in 33 as well showcasing his worth every time he has taken the field for the team.

Even in this season, Vinicius has scored eight goals and assisted in five in 13 matches of LaLiga while in four Champions League matches, he has scored as many goals. After missing three matches, the young footballer will be keen on making a comeback and make an impact for the Real Madrid, the team that has been struggling this season.
