Vinicus Jr speaks about his contract renewal negotiations after a brief silence

Real Madrid registered a 3-2 win over their nemesis Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League knockout playoffs and the winger, Vinicus Jr was a superstar in the game as he continued to remain relentless and created the chances for his side. He was ruthless and gave Rico Lewis a nightmare in the second half of the game. Post-game, he was asked about the contract situation and he broke his silence on the same. 

Talking to the media, the Brazilian international mentioned that he is always excited about the contract renewal with a club of stature like Real Madrid. While his current contract runs out in 2027, there are murmurs that the player wants to depart from Santiago Bernabeu to maximize the valuation. Vincius Jr said:

It is always very exciting to be able to have conversations with Real Madrid about my renewal,

While the reports emerged that the initial contract had been denied by the player, Vinicus Jr cleared the air about the same. He mentioned that he wants to be a long-term servant of the club and spend the time more as the fans, president and coaching staff continue to admire and adore him. He said:

I have a contract until 2027, but I have always said that I want to continue playing here after so much time and making history. I have received the affection of the fans, the president, the coaching staff, all the players... my wish is to be here longer and God willing in the next few days all the negotiations will be resolved to spend much more time here

Is Vinicius Jr Middle East bound?

Currently, most of the international stars moving to the Middle East in a bid to get a better wage with zero tax and it was rumoured that the Brazilian will also make his move away from Spain. However, the 24-year-old mentioned that he does not want to be drawn to the speculation and wants to perform at the highest level. He said:

I don't know anything either, nobody has spoken to me, I have to speak to the president and I hope I can stay here for a long time, this competition gives us something more and I want to make history
