Star striker Mauro Icardi of Galatasaray and his spouse Wanda Nara have formally called it quits on their turbulent marriage. Well-known for her candid remarks, Wanda Nara confirmed their breakup with a dramatic statement, capping a story plagued by unending turmoil and lies. The rocky beginning of Argentine striker Icardi's relationship with Wanda Nara in 2014, when Nara was still married to Maxi Lopez, has been the focus of much attention and conjecture. The couple, who have two kids together, has had many public separations and reconciliations. Wanda Nara made news recently when she unfollowed Icardi on social media, shocking their fan base in the process. Icardi, on the other hand, still follows Nara and seems to be harboring residual feelings. Reports state that Nara has filed for divorce, a move that has apparently been planned for some time.
A Beginning Marred By Betrayal
It was in contentious circumstances that Icardi and Nara first came together. When Icardi joined Sampdoria in 2011, Maxi Lopez, a former Argentina international, went above and beyond to assist Icardi in settling in Italy. Nara was married to him.
After Lopez joined the club a year later, the two men became close and even went on vacation together. However, when Lopez and Nara's marriage fell apart, there were rumors that Icardi had an affair.
Icardi and Nara refuted the allegations in public, but their salacious relationship was quickly revealed, leading to Lopez's divorce.
The Frequent Break-Up/Patch-up
Last year, Nara went on an intense Twitter rant, allegedly directed at her husband, writing:
"Another family that you have ruined for a s***."
After that, she stopped following Icardi on Twitter, shared a picture of her hand without her wedding ring, and then shared another picture of herself with her ex-partner Lopez on her Instagram story, which led to speculation that the pair had called it quits.
After a few months, they were able to work things out, with Icardi allegedly signing a contract to give his wife all of his possessions in an effort to keep their marriage together.
Karma Never Misses
A few months later, Italian writer Fabrizio Corona accused Nara of cheating—not her husband, though—claiming that the Argentine had been boozing Marcelo Brozovic, the midfielder from Croatia who was Icardi's former teammate at Inter. This was a startling accusation.
Following her legal battle with Corona, she declared in public,
"I never had a relationship with Marcelo Brozovic." Being a conventional family, this narrative generated issues for us both inside and outside the family."
Wanda also stated that because the tale had strained Icardi's friendship with his teammates, it had pushed her and her husband to leave Milan.
