"We have to raise our level" - Celta Vigo forward after joining Lionel Messi at Inter Miami

Inter Miami forward Tadeo Allende has mentioned to the media that while playing with Lionel Messi is a matter of pride and honor, it also comes with an additional challenge and a lot of pressure. The Celta Vigo forward joined the Major League Soccer outfit on a year-long loan a month ago for the rest of the reason. Now, he will be sharing the pitch alongside the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner in the league. 

Ever since Lionel Messi joined the club, he has changed the fortune of the club. The Herons’ had struggled to win the trophy but ever since he joined, they have had a trophy in the cabinet. In his debut season, he helped the side to win the Leagues Cup while also assisting them on their way to win the Supporters’ Shield. However, they missed out on the MLS Cup which they would want to fill up at the earliest. 

Speaking to the media, Tadeo Allende mentioned that he has always admired the likes of Messi and other individuals like Suarez, Alba, and Busquets. He also mentioned that these players are winners and the team has to raise their level to ease the pressure on themselves. 

Talking to the media, the former Celta Vigo forward said: 

“I always watched Messi on TV and now being his team-mate is something incredible, just like the other three [Suarez, Alba and Busquets]. It’s an honour and an immense joy, but it’s also a lot of pressure, they are winning players and we have to raise our level,”
