"We have to suffer a little bit", says Diogo Dalot after the defeat to Nottingham Forest
Manchester United’s poor run of form continues in the English Premier League as they lost their first fixture against Nottingham Forest on their return from the international break. Their former player, Anthony Elanga, scored in the 5th minute which remained as the solitary goal of the game. While Manchester United dominated the possession and the shots on target, they couldn't find the equalizer. At the end of the game, Diogo Dalot mentioned that the club and the players have to suffer a little bit more before things get better.
Talking to the media, the Portuguese right-back mentioned that for the club to be competitive, they need to dominate the games like they did and the results will eventually flow. He said:
If we want to be competitive in the future, we have to start behaving like this and we have to perform like this. Then I think the results will come in the end, but this little bit will have to come first if you want to compete for the Premier League and the biggest titles.
Diogo Dalot also emphasized creating habits and remaining consistent as the results will flow for the side. He mentioned that they have to suffer a little bit before things get better, adding that the club is on the right track as they continue to improve the situation. He said:
We have to start creating these habits and then try to be consistent on that and then I think the results will come by itself. We still have to suffer a little bit, but in terms of trying to get out of this situation and trying to improve I think we are on the right track
Who will Manchester United play next?
After the loss to Nottingham Forest, Manchester United will turn their focus towards their next fixture in the Premier League- the Manchester Derby. With the season reaching its culmination and the European spots out of reach, the Red Devils will focus on maximizing the results against Lyon when they face them next week in the Europa League.
