What did Roy Keane say about Marcus Rashford's resurgence at Aston Villa?
Manchester United legend and pundit Roy Keane has, once again, shared his views on Marcus Rashford following Aston Villa's FA Cup victory over Cardiff City. The former Manchester United player believes that Rashford should do this more often, and with luck, he will achieve more in his career. Discussing the game, Roy Keane mentioned that creating chances is something Rashford should focus on more often. He also stated that a player of Rashford's stature should play to his strengths, and with a bit more luck, he can regularly find the right players, as he did when he assisted Asensio in the game.
He does [shape his run intelligently] and that’s what Marcus should be doing more of. You give good players time on the ball and you’re in trouble. We saw it in the first half and Marcus is very good at doing that. This is obviously one of Marcus’ big strengths. He has a bit of luck at the end, I’m not sure he’s trying to pick out Asensio
The 27-year-old English international has created 13 chances in the Premier League since January, the highest by any player in the competition. However, he was frozen out of the first team after failing to heed the advice of his current manager, Ruben Amorim. Discussing the chance creation and assists, Roy Keane mentioned that the player is doing well with assists, but the winger should also be focused on scoring a few goals for himself. In the last two games, he has registered four assists. Roy Keane said:
Strangely enough, I still think Marcus has done well with the assists. But I still think he will be thinking, 'I want to score a few goals myself
What next for Marcus Rashford? Will he ever play for Manchester United again?
Rashford, despite being loaned to Aston Villa, would want to feature again for the club but it remains interesting to see how his loan tenure would pan out. Unai Emery’s side has a deal in place where they could sign the English international for a fee of £ 40 million in the summer. While the fans are torn on the situation, the management of Manchester United will hold the key.
